About Dr. Brown:
Hi, I am Dr. Arika Brown, D.C., a long time resident of Wichita. I attended Wichita State University, where I received a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I moved to Kansas City to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College, where I graduated top of my class. After completing my resident, I was an Associate Doctor for one of the largest chiropractic offices in Kansas. However, nothing could keep me from this wonderful community and the people in it.
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the treatment of the spine and nervous system. The nervous system is the driving force for every organ, cell, and tissue in the body. Therefore, when the nervous system is compromised, so is the bodies health and wellness. Dr. Brown will find where the nervous system is being irritated and remove that nerve interference through spinal adjustments. These adjustments, also restore proper joint positioning which helps prevent further damage and deterioration to the spine (arthritis).
What to Expect:
In our office, we believe in a holistic approach to treating patients. Our focus is on removing physical, chemical, and emotional stresses that cause irritation to the patients bodies. It is not only important to adjust the spine, but also to focus on the surrounding soft tissue that causes the symptoms of pain.
On your initial visit, Dr. Brown will utilize equipment that allows the patient to see how their bodies are working against themselves due to muscle imbalance and neurological irritation. Along with spinal adjustments, we believe it is important to retrain the body's poor posture and weak core muscles. To help the body become more stable, Dr. Brown also uses cold laser therapy, electrodes, customized stretches, and personal trainers to patients in their healing process.
